About Us

Wilson & Associates, CPAs, LLP is located in Smithfield, NC, which is about 25 miles southeast of Raleigh. The firm is made up of two CPAs, James M. Wilson and Matthew R. Wilson. This father and son team strives to provide professional and personalized services to both business and individual clients. One of our main goals is to always be able to pay close, personal attention to each of our clients’ needs.

Wilson & Associates, CPAs, LLP was formed in 2010, but the roots go back much further. In 1974, James M. Wilson began working for his father, who began his accounting practice in 1952. James M. Wilson obtained his North Carolina CPA certificate in 1989. In 2007 Matthew R. Wilson came to work full time in the business and became licensed to practice as a CPA in North Carolina in 2009.

Our clientele consist of both business and personal clients. For our business clients, we provide monthly bookkeeping services, compilation, and review financial statements, tax planning and tax preparation. One main goal is to assist clients in growing their businesses and personal wealth, and to provide the best tax planning possible. The same service is provided to the individual client that is provided to the business clients.

Each client is able to deal directly with one of the partners of the firm whenever they wish. When it comes to final review of a financial or tax product, it is the CPA partners who make final decisions and assists the client with their choices and financial/tax decisions.
